Excursion Program

In addition to our traditional immersion plan, we offer an alternative program designed specifically for college students. The goal of this program is to complement traditional language study through field trips that  bring students into direct and more focused contact with different aspects of Guatemalan life, such as the history, customs and traditions that have been preserved from our past and that continue to shape our present. The excursion program provides:

  • One-on-one classes

  • Room and board. Students stay in Xela with families

  • Contacts

  • Bilingual guides services at sites of interest

  • Public transportation

  • Airfare: Guatemala City-Flores; Flores-Guatemala City

  • Translation services during lectures and activities

The program does NOT provide:

  • The cost of meals on the various trips

  • The cost of hotels (except for the Fuentes Georginas)

  • Admission costs at the parks: TIKAL or ABAJ TAKALIK

  • Airfare to Guatemala

Total Cost of the Special Program:

  • $1000 per person

  • Minimum number of participants: 10 persons

DEPOSIT     A nonrefundable deposit of $100 per participant in the form of a money order or personal check made out to Centro de Estudios Pop Wuj is required with the application to reserve your place.

The balance of the payment can be made upon arrival at the school and os acceptable in the following forms:  Money orders made out to Centro de Estudios de Espaņol Pop Wuj, Travelerīs checks, cash, or Credit Card (a surcharge of 10% will be added for the use of credit cards).
