Lindsay Austin,
President and CEO
As President
and CEO, Lindsay is responsible for the overall strategic direction and
day-to-day management of SpectraSwitch. Mr. Austin joins
SpectraSwitch with over 30 years of experience in the laser and optics
industry. Immediately prior to joining SpectraSwitch, Austin was Vice President
and General Manager of JDS Uniphase’s Commercial Lasers Division.
Previous positions have included Director, Instrument Business Unit
at Coherent, Inc. and Vice President of Sales at Analog Design Tools.
Lindsay
Austin holds
bachelor's and master’s degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics with emphasis in gas dynamic lasers, both from the University of Washington.
H. R. Nick Lawrence, VP Business
Development and Founder
The Founder of SpectraSwitch,
Nick Lawrence has spent the balance of
his career in emerging business enterprises. As Director of a Strategic
Business Unit of a high-technology Silicon Valley start-up, Lawrence
envisioned, planned, and successfully implemented a business plan to create
a new market for his business unit. Later, Mr. Lawrence was brought into
another high-tech start-up and, as President, engineered a successful
financial and operations turn-around. Lawrence held various management
positions at Raychem Corporation and FMC Corporation.
In addition to his degree from the United
States Military Academy at West Point in Engineering, Nick Lawrence has
an MBA from the University of Marymount in Arlington,
VA, and a masters degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg,
VA.
Jim
Hood, VP Engineering
Jim
Hood brings to SpectraSwitch over 34 years of engineering experience in
the telecommunications industry. Prior
to joining SpectraSwitch, he was VP of Engineering at Onix Microsystems
where he was directing the development of MEMS-based switching components.
His previous positions have included VP of Engineering at
Photometrics and Luxcom, and various engineering management positions at
Advanced Fibre Communications, DSC (Alcatel), Rolm/IBM, and Hewlett
Packard.
Mr. Hood holds an MS in
Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical
Engineering from New Mexico State University.
Fred
Lancia II, VP Sales
Fred Lancia, VP Sales,
directs the competitive sales effort at SpectraSwitch. His career includes
18 years experience in the semiconductor industry, as VP Marketing at
Metalink, Director of Sales for Level One Communications, Regional Sales
Manager for Lattice Semiconductor, and
Regional Manager, ASIC Products, at Fujitsu Microelectronics.
He is skilled in driving the new product development process,
analyzing markets and competition, and establishing multilevel sales
teams.
Lancia is a summa cum laude graduate of Ohio State University with a BS in
Electrical Engineering. He holds master's degrees in Electrical Engineering
from Stanford and in Management from Northwestern University’s J. L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Bob
Radkey,
Chief Financial Officer
As
CFO of SpectraSwitch, Mr. Radkey oversees the company’s finance,
administration, and corporate development. Prior to joining SpectraSwitch,
Mr. Radkey was executive vice president and chief financial officer of
Ameranth Technology Systems, Inc. in Redwood City, a wireless computing
products company he helped found. He was also a founder of S-TRON
Corporation, a Silicon-Valley start-up, serving as senior vice-president
and later president and CEO.
Mr.
Radkey received a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a
master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, both from the University of
Illinois.
Tim Starkey, VP Operations
As VP Operations, Tim Starkey brings to SpectraSwitch an
extensive knowledge of corporate and process management, team and
organizational development, and manufacturing engineering. Starkey served
for the past 12 years as President and CEO of Komag Material Technology in
Santa Rosa, CA, as well as VP Worldwide Substrate Operations for Komag,
Inc., of San Jose, CA. He
achieved worldwide cost-reduction targets that positioned Komag substrate
products as the highest quality at the lowest overall cost in the
industry. Prior to Komag, he was General Manager, Substrate Division, at
Domain Technology and Director of Manufacturing Engineering for Mag-Media,
Ltd. (a Polaroid company).
Tim Starkey holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
from Bradley University.
